Thanks for replying MP. I know 21 isn't a magic number, I was just concerned because the air cells look large and I haven't heard anything. With all these posts of people saving their chicks, I don't know what to think. I don't want them to die, obviously... so no signs of life scared me!

I had a duck egg I was sure had died. I had not seen a hint of movement in a week. I left it anyway. The rest of the eggs are due to hatch wednesday night/Thursday - that egg is moving tonight. Sometimes no matter what you do you just can't guess the outcome!

I know... it's so hard. I had to decide early on that even if everything went wrong... I wasn't going to try and help. Of course, I still ended up breaking a cardinal bator rule and opened it to retrieve some chicks.... but darnit, it was MY fault they were in such predicaments

But, I've fixed the problems

It would have been hard, but I think I would have not helped out any having hatching issues. Though I am sure it is easier said than done..... and when you have really expensive eggs or a breed you have been waiting forever to hatch... I spose it is hard to imagine losing even one. Tough call.

These aren't expensive, they're just an assortment from Meyer... but they are my 6 & 4 year old nieces first ever chickens and I want more than anything for them all to hatch and be healthy. I've never been so stressed over a hatch.... EVER. I can't say I've ever talked to my eggs either....

But I sing to these bad boys.
