These two are like... twins. They follow each other around, sleep together and chirp together. I wonder how they'll react to this third little chick who's determined to hatch tonight.

Everyone's chickies are so sweet looking!
We now have 13 babies and waiting on the last 3 eggs.

Our one baby decided to come out but when it did, I think he is under developed as it looks like his intestines are hanging out and his yolk sac was not absorbed at all and it broke, what a mess. This little one is still hanging in though I don't know if it will make it through the night

I'm keeping him in the bator for warmth and so he does not get trampled on . iluvmychicknkids: mine are little buggers to and go around nipping each other

Mamaboyd.....we NEED a new pic of these babies!!!!!

Just had to add one more pic of my brats.

FINALLY all 10 together (though not cooperating). They were pooping all over my favorite quilt (I made it out of my husbands old uniforms).

I had 12 that made it past day 3. I lost 2. One I have no clue.....she looked perfect but never even started absorbing her yolk sack before she died. The other was upside down and actually broke a bunch of veins trying to get out. So, a pretty good hatch I would say!!!!

Yeh, I figure there are probably about 10 little roos!!!! LOL Hope not. I have two that look a lot like he did as a baby so I want one to be a roo and the other 9 female!!!! LOL

OH mamaboyd, they are gorgeous!!!! So sorry about the little one.

What I think is neat is that all my chicks have the same dad and their moms are all the same breed, but look at all the different colors and markings!

I'm taking a few of the babies into my son and daughter's school tomorrow..oops just looked at the time, guess it's today

to show their classes. I'm glad we built a brooder for in the house as it's going down to zero tonight. Last year at this time when we received our day olds from the hatchery, it was warm enough that we put them right out in the coop with the heat lamp. Strange weather this year

I hope you get your 1 roo!! We are hoping for a roo too, and the rest can be all girls!!

How strange....what are they a mix of??? They certainly are pretty!!!! UGH....down to zero???? Oh wait, you are in Canada, aren't you.....I know someone on this thread is. I lived in Alaska for 4 1/2 years so I fully remember being cold when I shouldn't have!!!! LOL

Help please - we have a goose egg trying to hatch, and we don't quite know what to do. It appears from this post, that there are several people online right now that might have some advice.
The goose egg started pipping this morning, but hasn't made any real progress all day. There is a small tear in the membrane (about 1-2 cm long).
Should we help it? If so, how?
