Day 18.....Lockdown

Woke up at 2:45am and found my first pip!! So exciting!!! It's in one of my shipped EE/OE eggs I got from a BYC member. I'll try to post a pic in a bit. I am 8 hours into Day 20. My Wellie egg is still wiggling. No pip yet.

That is great news Leslie! Hopefully you'll have chicks in the next few hours!

My second Australorp and a Sussex have hatched. Two pips - a Barred Rock and Welsummer.

Malpositioned chick is still hanging in there!

Thank you Lyrika. Your little chick is adorable! I sure hope your little malpositioned chick makes it......it sounds like you are giving her the best chance possible I have to go to work in about an hour.....I hope I can stay focused :/

Try not to think about it! These little fluffballs know what they're doing. I watched the second Australorp hatch and he just did it so fast - practically burst out of his shell.

I've put the malpositioned chick into a little container inside the bator, to stop the other chicks climbing on her. They were pecking at her toes through the membrane.

Edit: Also just saw my one remaining Hamburgh egg has pipped!

Getting close. We'll all of my first eight hatched as of last night. These were BLW I received in the mail. My second baror has Copper Marans and Light Brahmas at day 20

The whole incubator sits in an auto-turning cradle. You simply take it out of the cradle. The cradle is powered separately from the incubator.

How exciting!! I have 7 Black Copper Marans eggs in this hatch but no pipping from them yet.
