good job helping, sounds like you waited until the perfect moment to intervene. I also believe in helping, especially with shipped & artificially incubated eggs, since they have already had so much intervention on my part, I think helping when you know some are dying/shrinkwrapping is the right move.

what incubator is this that has the extreme hot/cold spots?

The incubator is Farm Innovators... It was cheap, I think 45$ at Tractor Supply.I just bought a used mini Brinsea incubator which I used for my eggs that were pipping on the wrong end... It was great... I may save up and get a larger one ... Brinsea... I think that is a good kind but expensive.
