Yep, these are courtinx quail. I didn't but an extra thermometer because I didn't think it was necessary. I am now really regretting trusting my incubator as it wasn't the best branded either! Will they still hatch? It is day 20 now. I was thinking of listening to the egg however I didn't want to open eh incubator. Yesterday, on day 19, I think I saw one of the eggs move . Is there still a chance?Just to verify, these are coturnix quail eggs, right? There are some types of quail that have longer incubation periods.
Ok, I will go and listen to some now. I hope they wont die because of the sudden humidity and temp drop1 Wish me luck xI open my incubator constantly during lock down it should be fine
I open my incubator almost every single day.Is it ok for me to open the incubator? it is day 20 now
An extra thermometer and an extra humidity gauge that has been salt tested is absolutely necessary.Yep, these are courtinx quail. I'm guessing by this statement you have never candle them... Is that true?Is it ok for me to open the incubator? it is day 20 now
I candled it and it looks exactly like that. It is day 20 now, however. Do they still have a chance? I cant hear anything when I put it against my ear so I am not certain...If you candle an egg right now in a dark room you should see this:
I candled them before and they were developing. They are in lockdown, so I didn't think I was allowed to open it.I'm guessing by this statement you have never candle them... Is that true?
Which means They may not even be fertile or be developing.
Definitely candle a few and do it in a dark room.
Then wait... There is no harm in doing nothing but waiting. You cannot open the eggs yet. If they are still alive they still have a chance to hatch on their own. You opening an egg will not do any good so just wait.I candled it and it looks exactly like that. It is day 20 now, however. Do they still have a chance? I cant hear anything when I put it against my ear so I am not certain...
