Day 19 Halfway Over Already! Stage One, the first 49 Eggs * PIPS!!!!*

The Ameraucana is a beautiful blue shade. There is one more egg, but not sure if it will hatch. Its alive and was moving, but hard to say. It's getting pretty late in the game and they usually hatch earlier than this.

All six Ameraucanas were moving at Day 14 candling and I didn't candle again before IBW. It was really disappointing to see that four of them had expired after I candled. The first time Lynn sent me Ameraucanas from California, five of six hatched. This time, I'll only get one or two. Bummer.

Some were caused by wonky aircells from shipping. They were wildly off and humongous. Many chicks just popped out with no trouble at all, like Christie's Welsummers and my own chicks from my birds. The aircell troubles were in Julie's from Alabama and Lynn's from California. I hope that won't be the case with Jodys in a few days. This is one reason I was glad to have so many extras. I did expect to only hatch about half of what I set.

I may have to wait till tomorrow to get more pics. I'm so tired, I'm shaky. I have three chicks still in the bator drying off and eight eggs left, all pipped except two, I think. 'Nite, all. Thanks for the support! I'll get pics sometime tomorrow for you from Brooder Central.

How are you doing today Cynthia? How are the rest of the eggs?
Your eggs came this morning, when the p.o. called she told me the box was in pretty bad shape. It was crushed on the bottom...the part where you had all the extra padding. No eggs were damaged unless the damage was done inside. We will see

You did an awesome job of protecting these eggs, thank you for all the extra effort and the baker's dozen.

Hope you were able to rest up last night?
