i usually candle mine after about a week and a half so that i can get any infertile eggs out before they start smelling funny. (i really just get ancy and want to know how many i'm gonna be dealing with). my last batch i only got 30 out of 40. i was pretty dissappointed. several pipped and never made it out.

Ooooooh hippie...I thought you were asking if ingv has candled the eggs since they've been in the hatcher! My bad. I candle mine at days 7, 14, and 18. I just like to make sure they're progressing as they should.

I sure hope not. This is my first time though so if I have to blame something the weather is a good enough excuse for me. BTW- I just got my first egg from one of the banties I bought from you TODAY! I'm taking that as a sign of good luck.

I've been checking my hatcher every half hour...still no action. I'm really really getting nervous now.

GOOD NEWS I guess One of them is starting to peck its way thru.

But when i did candle them they were all dark all but where the air pocket is. that is the only visible part

I hope they are stuck to the hatcher window because something is happening! It is really hard to do nothing. That sounds silly, but it's the truth.
