Day 21 no signs of Piping or movement

No, not a lot of liquid in it. Membrane was stick around it and when it opened up, chick moved around and when I picked it up legs and body jerked around, so it was alive.

So it was alive when you did the eggtopsy? What day was this on? Was the membrane very tight to the chick keeping it from moving?

Have you calibrated your hygrometer to make sure that it's reading accurately? Maybe that's what's off.

On the first bact last month I lost, yes the membrane was tight. buton this one eggtosey the membrane wasn't the the chick was alive. I have 4 hygrometers and have switched them from incubator to incubator and recorded readings each time and all 4 gave same readings as one I would swap it out with so I am assuming they r all good

Did you just eggtopsy one now? I wouldn't have done that for a few more days yet, sounds like there was a viable chick that just hadn't pipped yet.

Yes, on first 12 eggs I lost last month, when I broke them open, 11 out of 12 were fully developed but membrane was tight around chicks

Well, that sounds like shrinkwrapping, but I wouldn't think you'd get that with humidity already at 45% for the first 18 days. Honestly I can't say why they aren't hatching from the info you've given. If this hatch doesn't work out, take pictures when you do the eggtopsy and we'll see what we can find.

Will do. I wish I could or someone figures out what is going wrong. I have read so much on here and followed everything to the letter that I have read on BYC and you would think out of 48 eggs going at same time ( 4 incubators-12 eggs in each one) I would at least get 1 egg to hatch.
Thank you for your replies
