Good morning all,
We have three of the 6 hatched! One hatched yesterday evening while we were out, I'm guessing around 7:30 p.m. and the other two came along at 8:30 & 11:00 p.m. Still waiting on the other three. One has been peeping & wiggling but with no pip and the other two, nothing.
These are banties, a mix, so far all light colored, one with feathered feet!
CITYCHICKERS, how are things going this morning? Any further signs?
How about anyone else?
This morning has been good to us. We have 2 with the tiniest of holes pipping, but I think I heard a chick choir singing this morning..."wait for us! wait for us! We're coming too"!
lots of soft, quiet little peeps.
We are going to leave for awhile this morning and run errands, hoping to speed things up with not being here...
well friends...we have our first hatch! We are so excited...it's a gorgeous naked neck, fiesty as all get out. I first realized that the sounds I was hearing from the bator were getting louder and louder, just in time to rush and see the shell pop open! WOW!
We are watching it drag it's hind end around still stuck to the shell...is this normal? I know that we're not to help. How long do they sometimes struggle?
