Dark eggs are notoriously difficult to candle. I have opened what I thought was a clear egg before, and found a tiny live embryo. Later in the incubation it can be hard to tell if they are still alive in there. So now I don’t trust what I think I see in the dark ones. So IMO, candling dark eggs is optional and sometimes pointless. So it’s ok if you don’t want to/can’t candle.

Hopefully since you are seeing action now, you will soon have chicks.

It isn’t a certain area one side has an x and the other side has a circle so that I can keep up with which side I turn them on.
