Day 22 and movement has stopped :o

Hello, they are Pekin chicken eggs the humidity has been running between 45-50% the whole way through temp at 37.5 c the whole way through the last couple of days when ive checked and humidity has been low i have managed to get it up to around 60% local humidity has been quite high especially over the last couple of days with VERY hot weather today humidity is 57% in my area. i put them in on the 29th may afternoon time cant remember exactly what time but would have been between 4 and 6 and now after checking i realise that actually that makes today day 21??? the incubator i have is a digital clear egg incubator (please dont judge i know its only a cheap more than likely 'crap' incubator) however i have borrowed it off a friend being my first time who has previously hatched 5 ducks and 3 chickens from it on 3 different occasions i was expecting all of them to go through to hatching but after candling and seeing movement and then also seeing movement yesterday with one of the eggs rocking i got myself excited but now just woundering weather im missing the movement or weather it has stopped moving altogether :/.
Ok briliant would really appreciate the help if it come to it fingers crossed it doesnt
That humidity is good I don't think mine was that good temp is right so that's good yes it's day 21. I would give it another day or so before thinking of assisting. I had pekins in my second hatch only 2 made it to lock down both were shrink wrapped and both had varying degrees of deformities. I hope you have better luck with them then I did. What brand is the incubator?

I have hatched quail in the cheap clear digital incubator and it made a good stand-in for when the hen gets off the nest when the eggs have pipped which causes the humidity issues with her.

I have had eggs that hatch on day 22, 23 and 24, so I would wait. Chicks make lots of movement, then rest, and then start wriggling about in the egg again. It can be rather worrying when you have a still egg after seeing it wriggle around like mad a moment ago.

I also had a silly chick that pipped in the middle of the egg instead of at the air sac. It sorted itself out after I used the egg candler to show it where the air sac was and it pipped there and zipped free. The egg looked completely still and was silent, but when I lifted up the egg it started peeping and kicking.

Excellent. We might complain about certain incubators around here but we don't judge ;)

I forgot to ask if it has a fan? With a fan, your temp sounds good. If it doesn't have a fan, you can actually run a little warmer than you did, because the air doesn't circulate around the eggs as much. I assume you turned the eggs a few times a day, or there is an automatic turner?

If its afternoon already there, then yes, you are just in day 21 (see, easy mistake! lol) so my opinion would be to give them a little while longer. I bet you will see some pips today! :fl Best of luck!

Yes it does have a fan, i was turning the eggs 3 times a day before lockdown, (sigh of relief) will now leave them an stop watching like a hawk lol. I'm of to do some bits and then off to work later so fingers crossed something happens in the meantime, will keep you updated :)

You should see me when my eggs are hatching! :lau I pace about and keep darting to the incubator to check on it every 5 mins or so. The moment I see any sign of struggle in my eggs, I have to practically glue my hands to myself to not open it and the pacing and checking intensifies.

My incubator has a small hole that acts as a vent, which also helps with adding water without opening the incubator via the syringe it also came with. It is a still-air incubator, so I have it at 37.7 C and have had good hatches in it.

haha

That is good! :fl Hope for a good hatch!

Hi, be patient. I had 5 maran eggs, 2 pipped and hatched on day 21, the other three I had candled on day 18 and saw movement. Today, day 25, I decided to give up since I candled them today and no movement. 1st was malpositioned, so could have died before moving into position, plus it's yolk sac was still quite huge. 2nd egg came out in it's complete bubble, chick was fully formed, feathered, but half the size of normal and yolk sac was bigger than he was. 3rd one checked at my pip mark and white membrane was shrunk wrapped over chick. I gently peeled off membrane, remarking to my daughter how "perfect" it was, just had a teeny bit of yolk sac remaining. Then all of the sudden the legs moved, and an eye opened, then wings moved, I ran with it under the heat lamp where my others are in the brooder, massaged it gently, kept it warm, then when incubator was back up to temp, layed "her" in it. she died about a half an hour later. I could KICK myself for opening her egg, but then again, day 25, no pips, no movement I was sure she was dead already. She probably had been trying to pip for 3-4 days and was just too weak to continue. :(

Kick yourself for opening the egg? Why

I know how that's feels. Just wait a lil more. I waited a few days past the hatch day before I decided to risk it. If you get really worried but don't want to start helping yet candle and see if they are in the air sac at lest that will give you a lil less to worry about.
