Day 23, no Pips no Movement but I got PICS!!!

The styro bators are very touchy with the room temp. Also windows and room lights, which a lot of people don't think about.
I have gotten pretty good at hatching with my LG. It's just a matter of experience, I use a towel on really cold nights and watch it closely. I would love an expensive cabinet incubator so I could set it and forget it. But for the price, the styro bators can get the job done it just requires a little more work.

That's my theory too.

Well I have 1 chick from 11....and it was at my friends and he has a nice big cabinet one...I bought 6 chicks from Tractor Supply to keep my new little one company.

After these guys are ready to go outside in the small coop, ill try again but try doing it DRY this time. I had my humidity at 50-55% the entire time and temp went up and down, I had them in the kitchen lol no windows no vents so IDK but im thinking about making one this time around since I have time...maybe my dad can help me he is pretty handy,
I opened the eggs last night and there was fluid inside above their heads, ALL were facing the right way and on day 18 all were moving and such so I killed them by doing something wrong... :( ill try and do more research and try again in a few weeks.

It's a learning process. We all learn something new every time. I don't mean to sound like I'm blaming it all on the LG, I definitely made rookie mistakes. There are people on here that will be able to help you with your next attempt, and I'm sure it will go much better

I think you'll have a much better hatch if you run dry and just watch the air cells. I really think humidity was the problem. Just by the pics, and the size of the air cell. Next time you'll have better!! The first one is the biggest learning experience.
