Yeah, I'm not happy with them either.

DH bought ours his work, not eggs, but it's fun to see what it reads on the eggs.

Not having used them on eggs, I'm curious about it reading the surface egg temperature and how that compares to internal temperature.

Okay everyone got a question. Baby internally pipped 12 hours ago but still has not made any progress with an external pip. It was peeping away this morning but is now quiet but still moving do you think I should make a small external pip?

Usually, if the air cell is the right size, 24 hours is a good guideline before making a safe hole. Then another 24 hours before helping further.

Gotta love nice big pips too. I love it when I'm peering in, and see and hear one at the same time! Pow!

I know the air cell was pretty much half the egg maybe a little less. But he was just so quiet was a little worried as he has Tookin longer to hatch but day 20 so not to worried. Strong little thing though definitely whith it being a silkie.

Just that one pip was the size of a quarter.
