So I candled my duck egg yesterday, and it appeared to break into the air pocket. Today the duckling is moving around a lot but still no progress. Should I help it along or just leave it? I really dont want it to die on me since it is the only egg that made it this far...

it is either a pekin, rouen, or a mix of the two. I bought rouen eggs on ebay and the seller threw in an extra which said rouen/pekin on it...of course that happened to be the only one that developed lol

It can take up to 2 days for a duckling to hatch, even after it pipps... Quit taking the egg out of the bator or you will kill it. The duck eggs need the high humidity to keep the shell softer and make it easier for the duckling to hatch. Make sure the humidity is about 75% and leave it be. Duct tape the bator shut if you need to but dont take it out any more. Jenn
