I have a day old walking on its hocks. It's left foot looks a bit curled under to me. It seems happy otherwise. Chicks are on an inch of shavings with paper towel on the surface. We have added Poul-Vite to their water. Is there anything I can do to help this little one walk normally?

It looks like it might have curled toes, which you can make some boots to correct.

Is it able to straighten its legs out on its own? Do its tendons that run down the back of the legs look like they are in place, or do they look like they've slipped out to the side?

I've noticed chicks tend to walk on their hock for the first day until they are stronger, so that will probably fix itself. However the feet look like they need to be taped into the right position. Heres so,e photos of chicks who's feet have been taped. I think they only need to be taped for a couple days. You could look up a video of how to do it if you're not sure

I'll try taping the feet. To me, it looks like it's feet are still in position from being squashed tightly in the egg.
