Day Old Chick Won't Wake Up

I'm so sorry. It's always so sad...:hugs

But you still have all of your other babies to take care of! Yay! Baby chicks are the best things in the world for when you need cheering up!

:hugs I'm so sorry... the same happened to us with one of our recently shipped chicks, sleeping and then passed away. It's tough. :hugs

Sorry for your loss, but, it happens and I guess we just have to accept it and move on. My way of dealing with expected loss was to order more chicks than I needed. I hope to winter over 6 hens, so I ordered 10 chicks planning that not all will make it. Thanks for updating the thread, even though we were hoping for a better outcome.

After I lost my entire shipment earlier this year, I decided never to order again. I now get my birds locally. I may not be able to find the fancy breeds i wanted, but nor do I have to open a box full of dead chicks ever again.

I'm still sad about it. I ordered a variety and asked for a "mystery chick" to be added for fun. I couldn't wait! I was like a kid on Christmas Eve! When I took them out, I saw that I had gotten a little Polish. No one around here sells Polish (not that I've found, anyway). Broke my heart....

That's awful! I'm sorry that happened to you :(
We have decided to stick with chicks we can pick by hand from now one.
