Day old chick

It could be a variety of Brown Leghorn, Welsummer, "easter egger," or possibly another breed. There are many breeds that have that look.

that's the father. no idea who the other is i have 10 hens not sure what breed they are though.

That picture doesn't seem to come up. It states, page not found.

Well, he is a good looking rooster. He obviously has a rose comb.

It isn't a Rose Comb Brown Leghorn because he doesn't have the white earlobes or the right feather coloring.

Maybe it is a rose comb game rooster.

The chick is probably a cross then, since you have various breeds of hens. Or are the hens all alike? If so, do you have a picture of the hens?

That looks like a mixed-breed hen to me, but I could be wrong.

It seems the rooster's traits are showing through stronger in that chick.

Did you just get one chick that looked like that?

Yes that was the only one.
the other ones are black with a brown face. Probably the eggs were from the barred rocks I have.

That makes sense. Those darker chicks are probably from the Barred Rock hens. But obviously an egg from another hen was hatched.

It would be interesting to see how that chick develops. Whether it is a pullet or a cockerel, it should be a good chicken. Mutts are very hardy. :)
