So its day 24 and I am tickeled to death that six out of nine lavender orpingtons have hatched and happily playing in their box for three days now (some two days). I left the last three eggs in the incubator because my stepdaughter was scared to get rid of them today although no signs of life. Now all of the sudden...... one pipped? Yep! Three days later? Why is it so late? Will it hatch or is something wrong with it?

It could have been sitting in a cooler spot in the incubator. It's a good idea to move your eggs around as they incubate because it's very common for there to be warmer and colder spots in your incubator. Fingers crossed for another little cutie. :fl

Same thing happened to me this week. I usually leave it an extra day or two before cleaning and went to empty it and another had pipped. Day 25. I did have to assist and it was underdeveloped and could only lay on its side. Unfortunately didn’t make it.

I did splint the feet last night and this morning all but one toe looks good but he cant stand up yet. I am wondering if something is wrong with his legs that I cant visibly see. I will splint the foot that still has a bad toe again after work.
