My buddy recently lost one of his two muscovies. I mite send him my drake and get a breeding pair of call ducks that are forsale

Call ducks are great! You'll fall in love with them.
You probably already know this but take in consideration that calls can fly. Even some of mine with clipped wings can still get off the ground pretty good. They are also easy targets for predators being "snack size" as I once heard it put so your security would probably need to beef up with you having to work so much. Also they can sometimes be hard to hatch if your looking forward to babies. The closer to the standard they are the harder time they have being able to escape the shell and sometimes need assistance. BUT all that being said they are fun little birds that don't eat you out of house and home. They have lots of personality and aren't quite as messy in my opinion as the larger breeds.

She was thinner than the drake, And for the last week has been screaming non stop. i seen her eat but didnt watch how much. She played im the water this morning. always fresh water

She wouldnt flap her wings as hard or run as fast for the last week. or preen much either

Checked at 4 pm she was quiete but upright
Checked 7pm stone driven dead.

She was always way smaller and never realy as active i guess

No idea what happened but the drake is sad i think. Do you think they miss a specific friend or just miss the company?

That’s so sad. She looks precious like she’s sleeping in your palm. I bet he does miss her.

No, I think it's more a respiratory risk type thing. Is there actually cedar inside your duck house or just outside?
I'm leaning towards some type of toxin here somehow. If it were the cedar I would think that both ducks would be sick though.
I wonder if it would be a good idea for him to do a flush @CayugaJana @Miss Lydia ??
But I don't know since he is already weak..
Does he gasp for air when sitting at rest too or just after exertion?

No, I really doubt that the cedar shake is the issue. The amount of oils would be minimal even in brand new Shake. You actually have to sand them to refresh the smell as moth repellent. If the mere presence of cedar was toxic, my yard would kill any duck instantaneously upon landing. Cedar oils are definitely an irritant in enclosed spaces. A cedar shake roof or siding unless absolutely brand spankingly newly cut wouldn’t be an issue. You wouldn’t use cedar freshly cut for those purposes anyway.

I’m very fortunate. This is my backyard where I get to eat breakfast, drink tea, and knit. My previous house was right next to an interstate (and international since it basically goes to Canada) highway.
