I called the first one and i didnt want to give them my credit card information so i called my local fish store and they told me they had antibiotics with tetracycline and erithromycin but not the product name

I have ordered from all three places before, so I consider them to be trustworthy.

You could try the stuff that the fish store has, but it might not work because neither drug is as good at treating respiratory infections as Baytril is.

Does your local feed store carry oxytetracycline? That's approved for use in laying hens in Canada so I think you can buy that OTC.

If it were me, I’d try erythromycin first. It has a lot less side effects.

Silver nitrate or erythromycin is what they routinely put in newborn baby eyes. If they do it there, you might ask someone that recently had a baby for their leftover tube.

I should add that if you can find the ointment the dosage isn’t that finicky. They really just squeeze out just enough to get some in the eye. I’ve seen them put in a huge amount, I’ve seen them put in a tiny amount. They’ve never based dosage upon weight or anything. They just try to get a good amount on the eye.

What a bummer Jpat. How about friends maybe ask if any one has any antibiotics laying around from when they were sick? You never know.

Go get one of the antibiotics at the fish store? What do you have to loose at this point?
