De-crowing a Rooster

Maybe Birdie sunglasses ? Id love to have a Roo and i love the crow but my neighbors do not . where i draw the line is cutting an animal No matter how small with out anestasia and many HOME surgens are not sanitary.

My opinion and i just watched a Utube and that looked like a group of kids torchering a young roo and wa very sad . Quick flick of the blade head or axe would be better then the suffering i just seen.
i cant even type im so sad for the poor chick

Build a rooster's box in the pen (sound proof but well ventillated) and keep here in there from roosting time until 9am or 10ish. Most of your neighbors will be awake by then and won't probably mind a crowing roo.

I don't think you can de-crow a rooster, no matter what you do. You can keep him in the box, but he'll then crow all day. Best bet is to talk to your neighbors and see what they think. Maybe they'll be totally fine with only hearing crowing from 8am to 8pm, for example. I think a little communication and a few dozen eggs to the neighbors is the best way to go.
