De-Worming Ducks

Hi all!

My beloved Charles Duckens seem to be coughing a little here and there. Nothing horrible but it is a new thing and being new to ducks I am not sure what it could mean. She doesn't do it while she's eating, she always has lots of fresh clean water to wet her entire duck if she feels the need (and she always feels the need).

In my reading threads on here about coughing ducks I saw a bunch of posts about de-worming ducks. Can someone give me some specifics on what schedule they should be wormed on, what type of wormer, how much and all that other good stuff? Being new to ducks I was not aware ducks should be wormed so I would love any info any of you awesome duck folks could give!

I’m an expert in heavy ducks and when worming, I ALWAYS use ivermectin. I don’t know whether you can get it in America (I’m in the U.K.) but I buy it for around £15.00. This will worm 45 ducks. It’s a great buy and I will never use anything else. Hope this helps?

I use ivermectin too, but there are studies that show it's no longer effective in treating certain worms. I have links to a couple of studies if you are interested.

Yes, please send the links, but there is only one type of worm that it doesn’t work on, and that worm is the most uncommon, it will still get rid of the common worms.

The studies say it's not effective in treating capillary worms and gapeworms. It also won't treat tapeworms, but it never has, so I guess that doesn't really count.
