Dead Chick

We just found a dead chick (1 week old we have had them for 2 days) under the hanging water. What are the chances it was smooshed vs. died of natural causes? This is our first time having chicks and my daughter is beyond devestated

Did it look smooshed? Was it able to get water from the feeder? Any other chicks with it?

It did not look obviously smooshed. water was access able and it was alone
