ok thank you very much this advice is so much appreciated more than you know ! I didn't save the bloody poop (I saw 2 in the coop that I quickly hosed down b/c it was so gross)
and one on my deck I hosed off as well, but tomorrow if I get one I will post a pic.
I tell ya, this is my first go around with an illness with chickens.
I've read so many other posts about it but you never really know until it happens to you. It is so consuming.....Its literally 24/7 because you're constantly watching your chickens behavior, seeing who's eating, drinking, going out every hour or so and counting up the girls.....who's not coming for treats, etc.....and oh goodness that morning walk out to the coop for its first opening of the day is so nervewracking
b/c I'm always scared I"m going to find one really sick or dead.
Ugh.....not to mention the hours you spend reading all of your books, reading stuff online to see if you're right or what to do and then wondering holy cow did I do the right thing or did I just kill my chicken??? I know its all part of it.....we just love them so much. I hope they pull through too.
Thanks everybody.....
