Dealing with summer heat in faverolles

Haha. It's a wild grape, possibly a fox grape, that volunteered next to the downspout, so I moved it. I'll definitely keep an eye out for some raspberry bushes. I wasn't expecting the heat to be so bad this soon.
Yeah I just checked what it was like in Pennsylvania and I wasn't expecting that as it isn't that south

Yeah, it's crazy. My inlaws live in Northern PA, I'm southern pa, and the difference is crazy. I'm also on the border of a metropolitan area, which doesn't help much. I'm also chalking some of the heat stress up to most of my flock being 7 weeks old or less, and about half of them are black or silkies, or both. Today the hens really started showing heat stress though, but tomorrow should be significantly cooler.

There's an article I just read about helping with heat, let me see if I can find it again.

I can't imagine how hot black chickens must feel under the Sun, and it's not even summer yet. Hopefully they all get through without complications and stress free
