Dear chicken know-it-alls,

You are correct. And some of the biggest names in the chicken world are the nicest most patient people who are happy to help you learn, not just point out what you don't know. We love them!

I am usually just a lurker and gleaner of knowledge here but I have truly enjoyed this thread. thank you

I suspect that when you DO know it all, it is difficult not to have it show. When I have questions, which are many, I come to BYC. The vet is my second choice. I've tried other forums, even got in trouble for mentioning one of them on here once, and I can tell you, this is the BEST for knowledgeable, friendly, courteous people.

We're having a lot of fun on this thread. It wouldn't have been possible if we weren't confident that those we were dishing knew how to take it in good humor. BYC is full of GOOD eggs!!!

Now, that said... who's gonna send me one of those dragicon eggs? I NEED one of those to keep the deer out of my Sweet Corn!

this should be... ummm... fun... right?

Oh this one was definitely fun Bailey. And these are the types of threads that make the lurkers feel more comfortable and get them talking to us.

Are unigons any good as "watch dogs"? Or should I cross it with one of my guineas?

You're referring to the hybridized 'gunieconicornagoons' and if you were at all paying attention, you'd know they keep their tentacles hidden unless spooked by a stranger, in which case they catapult themselves straight up into the air and land upon the unsuspecting offender's head, whirring, pipping, flailing and whooping.

These are only available to those who have deep ponds, a nearby cave, and a spouse with no sense of smell.

Special permits are generally required (or so I hear).
