Dear Mods and Administration.....

The problem is that one person will post the same question in three different threads and it only gets answered in one. If we delete the other two we are accused of censoring. If we don't find the other copies we are ignoring people.

The next issue has been telling people how to get to something and then having others come in saying they don't like it that way and the answers get lost.

This is a battle we are losing out there and may have to start cleaning or deleting threads and routing people to one place.

There are thousands of members who enjoy spreading the word. Maybe if us members like that pay attention for those who need to post in the designated place to receive more personal attention. There aren't enough mods to direct people to a single place for help. U mods need to let the community help with that as well. THEN it will be much less stress on the mods to delete threads on that one thread that are wondering off topic topic.

I'll bet Debiraymond could probably direct about half of the members here!

I'm not sure I follow this. I know it's hard to organize this many people - which is why it helps to keep it all in the right section of the forum....i.e. the forum feedback and announcements section.

Otherwise - do you guys feel that there are a lot of people posting misguided advice? I haven't really seen any of that myself. Also - if someone posts "I don't know how to answer this but maybe this will help..." or "I have the same question...." It's just getting your post back up to the top where more people would see it anyway.

Either way - there are a few people you may see answering questions who may be a little better at it than others.... but aren't the more people helping the better?
In several of the sections I frequent, there is a lot of advice given that simply is not accurate or is not complete. I am sure it is all well-intended, but being told to use duramycin for coccidiosis or that a bird is gray when it is clearly blue or that if you cannot find a law specifically saying that chickens are illegal, that they are legal is not helpful. People make choices and decisions based upon the information they receive, and when the information is inaccurate, the choices are often not the best ones or what they would do with complete and accurate information.

I've seen way too many "I don't know" posts that are made quite soon after the original posting. Maybe if there is no answer in a day or two, but not 5 minutes after the original post. Generally, I do not answer posts to which I do not know the answer, and I don't answer posts where I feel the answer has been competely given unless I feel very strongly that an "x2" is warranted or have something additional to add.

This is a bit off the main topic but Sonoran silkie, saw your signature that said please e mail, don't answer pm's and wanted to let you know that your e mail tag isn't available to others in the new system when I clicked on pm you about this, I got the following error message...".There was a problem submitting this to the server. Please try again".

Just thought you might want to know. Nancy
