So clearly there is no SOP for Deathlayers. Google didn't turn up much of anything either. If you were interested in a breed that doesn't have a SOP, how do you even begin to work towards creating one?
Would I base it off SOP of similar looking breeds, such as campines or hamburgs? Or...?
Does anyone else here have or breed Deathlayers?

Oh good point. If you can find the SOP from the breed's country of origin, that would be helpful.
I've searched google and other breeders sites, but I can't find one. Any other thoughts on where I could look? I've tried contacting Greenfire Farms as well (that's where I purchased them), but haven't gotten a response yet.

Don't they have a more proper German name? Have you searched that?

"The “official” name today is Westfalische Totleger."

I don't see them in the British standard. Is there a German standard?
Yes, I've searched by their official name as well. I do find some information that says they are a "landrace" chicken and that they have no SOP. I don't know if there's a German SOP for it.

there is a facbook page that talks about criteria.
