At least her hubby is an electrician so the hot fence will be no problem.

I think she's going to need a bigger coop.

Hubby is on alert. He is NOT aware we may be hatching dinosaurs, but he's pretty easygoing.

Right to left:
This started out being just a dog kennel on the right and a few years ago became a dog kennel/broody hen pen.

To the left of the propane tank was only a large parrot aviary, as I have two macaws. That got converted (although parrots still go out there in the summer) into a growout pen. Then, to the left of that, a 10'x10' pen we bought (cover is greenhouse tarp the neighbor donated) which had access to the aviary that has a hutch inside. As of just a week ago, he finished the "hutch" for the fancies on the left side of that pen, and the right side will be a grow-out pen for all these babies chicks I'm keeping. (See @Nabiki, I'm trying ).

Both the aviary hutch and the pen hutch can have cozy coops inside. Nobody is in the ariary right now.

The coop which can hold about 20 or so is on the opposite side.

We sit down and try to brainstorm how many of these two full incubators plus 10 in the brooder can we keep? A lot will have to go, and I have three gals on deck waiting to see what I'm selling in a couple of weeks. Dinosaurs though? Hmm! May have to advertise those!

Got the 24 buff/cuckoo/paint eggs today!

Will set them after midnight tonight or in the morning. There's room in the Brinsea for two of them, and the rest will go in the NR360.

Interesting how things grow, isn't it? Are the macaws ever in with the chickens? I never thought to ask anyone that before.

Yes, it's quite entertaining for them to watch the chicks below. The parrots stay on their perches above. The only chicks we've put out there have been around two months old, and they can't get near the parrots. If they met, the chick would lose.

I've got quite a bunch of incubating going on as I've been buying eggs plus hatching my own. I'm having issues keeping track of it all. I would do another hatch along but that does take a lot of work and sometimes I don't give it as much time as I feel I should.

Thus, a couple folks suggested I just post what's going on here, add pictures as I get time. This sounds like a great way to keep track of everything all in one place!

Incubator 1: (Brinsea)
Has 16 of my own silkie eggs in it. I call them my fancies as they are from a breeder that raises show quality. They are vaulted and bearded. Seven in total of those.
Also has 12 Paint silkie eggs, shipped in from South Carolina. They took over a week to get here so not sure what to expect with that on top of the trip. I've hatched several batches of shipped eggs though and usually do pretty well, up in the 70% range. If it's over 50%, it's fine with me. These were all set February 17th.

On deck:

22 eggs, mostly silkie but other varieties arrived today from @2ndTink. We're swapping eggs so I got to see what a green egg looked like in person for the first time today. Also on deck, the second batch of Paint silkie eggs the seller sent when she thought they lost the first ones. Both of these boxes arrived today and are sitting in egg cartons to be set tomorrow morning/afternoon.

The breed pens for my "fancies:"
Piper, one of two roosters, but the only one in the pen. The other is Blueboy. The ladies are Marsha, a splash, Charlotte and Cocoa Puffs two chocolates. I've also just added the black hen. Blueboy is free-ranging with his partridge hen and the 7 pet quality silkies.

Probably on Saturday, or within a week I will have two dozen cuckoo/buff/paint silkie eggs arriving.

These are from the first batch I got from her. They are now three weeks old and live in the brooder in our house. Today they got out for a while in the puppy pen in the living room.

Thanks!! I can't remember where I found it but I have several CGI ones of cats I cycle through. My favorite one besides this one is a cat wearing headphones but I don't know if it's against rules to share it if it's not chicken related so you could see it .

Not against rules at all. There's a forum for cats, dogs, etc. too in case you hadn't seen it.
