The three little ones I kept from the 30-something batch are sunbathing today.

That's two paint silkies and a "who knows" silkie. It seems like it's getting some barring. They sure are cute. They live in our brooder in the house and are a little over 3 weeks old.

Who knows is such a cute name for a cute baby! It looks almost like a partridge.

I had no idea we'd be camping where there isn't any cell service. Going without wifi is one thing, but then cellular is needed and we had none. So this was really going "off the grid," although we had our newer camper we took for it's first run and it was great.

We took the three youngens with us too. The farmer lady across the road takes care of the rest. She shuts the coop and temp coop up at night and opens them in the morning. They have enough food/water to last a couple of weeks, so she doesn't have to do anything but that.

Here's the three. I forgot to bring the Corid along as was worried about them getting coccidiosis being so young and playing in new dirt/weeds, but they didn't get it. :highfive:

And, of course, the mutts. 😊

Thank you!

I forgot to mention I've never seen such "tame" chipmunks before, but they would crawl under the pet pen to eat the chick feed. The first time, the chicks squawked and flapped around and I came running.

We thought we had it nailed down with tent stakes, but the little squirts could still get through. I'd stand there waving my hands, and they wouldn't leave. I'd get a dog to help and THEN they'd leave. By the third or fourth time I caught one in there, the chicks were fine with it lol. They'd just keep eating right along with the chipmunk. I missed a great photo!

Finally, we got logs to put all around it on the inside, and piled rocks on the outside. That did it! I'm watching in case they got lice now. :th I didn't see anything though so I think they're fine.

Welcome back! Love the pups and what cool lives those three silkies are living. You could write the cutest children's book from their perspective 🥰
