December 2021 Hatch-A-Long

I had 6 chicks hatch on Monday, this one hatched last night. I slipped it into the incubator late. Blue copper maran. I thought he would hatch light colored, but he is black. Fun to see the diff colors.

No shipped eggs here. the front 7 tan and dark brown are due 9th. NN,

and Blue copper maran eggs.

I put them in this incubator first...

The 12 other eggs were heated in a separate incubator before they joined these. They were not cold when combined. They will be due 21st. The blue ones are bluebell eggers,

the light tans are a bantam.
below is the dad...his tail is even longer now.

eggs are going into lockdown tonight. sadly two Sultan have recently quit so 6 eggs left. the duck eggs are still going well, I will be hatching them upright

I have eggs in for the 9th, and the 22, I may have to set some aside for New year's hatch now, because....my LO hens are laying...And possibly my spitzenhauben, she was looking to comfort her nest...we will see what we get...
I want to see this next 2 batches hatch, it may help me decide which chicks I like...and what eggs to set for New Years.

I put them into lockdown tonight...

4 from Blue copper maran, and 3 NN. Due 9th. Candled all dark pointy end, and the air cell side all looked right.
