I rehomed some surprise hens to day. I gave the guy 7 hens. I asked if he wanted my one rooster, he said sure. I like to find homes for roosters.

That is great that he took the roo as well.

Can’t wait to meet you babies!!! My 4 year old is very adamant they’re OUR babies and not leaving…

My dad asked us for some (eating) eggs today and she said: With chickies in them??? Yay!!!!

I told her no, just for eating, she was very put out they didn’t want chicks too lol. My dad spoils his guineas and she’ll be so excited to raise him some more this spring though!

Well, four Cuckoo silkies joining four Splash make 8 in the brooder this week! Looks like the cuckoo are one black, one Chocolate, and two potentially mauve. Unfortunately the chocolate is a cull for toes, so will be joining my egg flock rather than my breeding flock.

Next hatch is three Splash eggs in about three days...

There was a chick really pushing the membrane at lockdown yesterday, but didn’t look I get ally pipped. Couldn’t resist checking this morning Pipped in there and I’m so excited for those little cheeps before hatching!

2 babies hatched quick tonight (day 21) and 10 more pipped!
Have some pics on the camera but I won't be able to get them off until after dinner. Supposed to be able to wirelessly send pics but I can't figure it out

Slowwwwww progress, but there’s progress! This chick seems to be zipping sideways? Is this an issue?

I MISSED IT!!!!!!!! By literal seconds Had to pick my husband up from work, checked before I left, and immediately went up when I got home

It decided to go back inside the egg lol. Already drying out to a silver colour!
