December Hatch-A-Long 2014

Day 18 or 19 depending on set date for my Serama eggs, two internal pips! One of said internal pips is Egg #5, who has a really weird air cell- saddle shaped, I'd think it'd be. I am anticipating an assisted with bated breath, but fingers crossed they manage on their own! Here are the photos of the egg through development. Day 0, before setting. I didn't notice the aircell deformity during candling Day 7, I managed to blind myself with the candler so despite not seeing everything I'd like to see, I let it stay. It was not as clearly alive as the others. Day 14, and wow was I happy I'd let it stay! They were developing nicely but now their aircell trouble was very obvious Despite this alarming development, at candling today I saw lots of movement against the membrane, and what appeared to be a little beak poking through! I will be keeping a very close eye on this little one. Guess it is time to head on to the January hatchalong with this batch! I hope you are all having a wonderful new year's
Good luck! Happy New Year!

If I am understanding you---If these eggs are day 18/19---they got problems.

Are chicks are all doing really well and off to their new homes today. I was really surprised at the demand for chicks right now. Within 20 minutes of posting them for sale I had three different buyers!

When they were younger. The white chicks are a mix of BR roo and RIR hen. The white chicks will look like her in a few more weeks. The black ones are BR roo (only roo we have that is mature) and Australorp.

I have three eggs left in the bator! Not a great rate really, but I will be happy if I get even just one chick. I found one internal pip last night when I set them up for lockdown! I'm so anxious now!

Well I have 4 eggs that I put in lockdown tonight. They are the ones I realized the night of the 13th day that the turner has not worked from day 1. We will see if there is any chance of them hatching.
