I had a power outage to my bator a few days ago. By the time I noticed the temp was down to 78 or 79. All my eggs survived it and are doing just fine so there's definitely hope! It's the 2nd or 3rd time it's happened in the last month or two. It's the temp spikes that are way too high that seem to have more of an effect. Crossing my fingers for you anyway though. I hope all is okay!I came home to the power off today! got the generator plugged in and temps back up so hopefully they are ok. I just can't win this time around lol

Oh my gosh, that's horrible. I hope everything is ok with your little eggs!
Ok so I couldn't resist, I had to take a peak for some piece of mind that I was doing things ok. So when I went to rotate my eggs for the final time today I had my hubby help me candle our 2 lightest colored eggs. I had planned to only do 1 but I had to check out 2 so I had a reference of what they should be looking like. The first one appeared to have a spot that looked like that may be where the veining will start from but it didn't appear to have an air pocket (I'm at a lose for words right now for some reason, hope that's what it's called.) Anyway that is why I pulled out the second egg. The 2nd one definitely had an air pocket and it had the same spot in it that looks like where the veining may start. I'm only on day 2 so I figure that's probably about all I will see at this point but for now that's enough to assure me that maybe I might be doing things correctly.
Anyway, I am so excited and I can't wait for my real candling date on Saturday. Hopefully with all my homework and with Thursday being Thanksgiving and then there's Black Friday shopping I will be super busy and won't get impatient about candling again!
