December hatch along

We have two Australorps out. Both within minutes of each other.

Serama are finally pipping.

Silkies are talking and rocking.

Gonna be glued to the incubator today.

I might add that I myself am due any day now and the sounds of the baby chicks has my hormones going crazy.

As it usually does, the hatching chicks has dropped the temp in the incubator.

How’s everyone else doing?

Congrats on your hatching chicks, and with your coming baby! Do you know if your baby is going to be a boy or girl? Who is going to help you with all of those chick's when your baby is born?

I was supposed to start my lock-down at midnight, but I decided to do it now instead. It's only a few hour's early.

My mother has been well versed (with flash cards) on when the chicks are to come out of the incubator on all three hatches. What brooder they go in. Etc.

I'm glad that you have someone who can help you, then. Babies can keep you pretty busy.

Bad News for my hatch and my chicks from Novembers hatch. Winter Storm coming in and I am in the ice Storm (Likely power Outages) warning area... up to 12 inches of snow which this city will not be prepared for. The Next night will be 15 degrees which is very cold for here. Anything below 20 is abnormally cold here. I really hope I do not have 15 degrees with no electricity. I might move into a coop to survive by being covered in chickens!

So far every time I do a whiny post about a pending disaster the disaster never happens. so its now a ritual I do to block disaster from happening lol, thanks or the prayers, maybe its the prayers that work.

My december hatch resulted in 15 chicks out of 22 eggs incubated. I was testing out a new incubator so they're just a mix of my layers, but a few of them came out really pretty!

@Compost King good luck with your winter storm. We’re getting pounded by rain here. Flooding pretty bad. I lost a few adult birds (bantams) yesterday due to the weather.

Our first Serama is out! Some sort of blue colored chick out of an egg marked Silkie pen.
