December hatch along

Pics
I set 14 eggs at 5pm Friday.

The humidity wasn't exactly where I wanted it, would have liked a couple more days to play with it, but outside circumstances and the weather basically forced my hand. I'm sure it will be fine though.

I'm pretty sure I'll have a fair number of clears, but as long as I get two pullets out of the batch, we'll be good.

Friday I have to box in and wire up the bottom shelves as the brooders, the first batch is due the 20th! Was thinking I'd put down contact paper to protect the shelves.

Pretty happy with my hatch room though! I put a pan of water in front of the heater and gained a 10% rise in ambient humidity... was hoping for 20% more... need another pan!

Trying to work with this old drafty house.

Gotta remember to get hinges/hardware and power strips. Perhaps a humidifier.

After the hatch is done that heater will get turned off, it's only there to help the incubator out since that room gets down right frigid!

Because... what else do you do with tiny rooms you don't use?
