December Hatch:Who is going to have Christmas babies?

I loaded in 14 Black/Blue Australorps. They are due to hatch on the 18th. This is a test hatch as the roo is young and the pullets just started laying. We will see in a couple of days though.

I am hoarding eggs from my own girls (6 E.E. with a PRETTY E.E. roo) and I am looking for more eggs! I want chicks on Christmas!

Please help me with my math - If I want the eggs to hatch on Christmas morning, I put them in the 'bator on the morning of the 4th of December ( this Saturday)?

Any other tips/ advice for a beginner hatcher would be appreciated - I am storing the eggs in my young chicken room in the garage - heated and insulated and 2 thermometers show an average of 50 degrees. I have 9 eggs so far and I hope for 18 before Saturday.

We are a stay-at-home family and we have a very low-key Christmas (usually the high point of the day is a jigsaw puzzle after a great dinner), so the babies hatching in the TV-bator will be something fun to watch!

I have cochins due to hatch on the 2nd and BCMs due on the 4th. I am going to set some of my own AMeraucanas on the 4th and hope they are fertile! I also have Coronation Sussex eggs due in the mail today. Fingers Crossed!

Added a few more....so 14 serama, 1 silkie & 2 wyandotte x silkie. Just candled on day 8, a couple look iffy, but its early. I will check again around day 14. This is the second attempt on the wyandotte/silkie, not looking good again. O well...2 of my favorites and curious what they would look like.
Just hatched out 6 serama on 11-24 and started to gather for the big New Years hatch.

Okay I'm with you, I put 17 chicken eggs ( RIR, Buff orpington, Australop cornish x crosses) in one incubator. In another incubator I put Cayuga duck and Sebastopol goose eggs. I should have little ones around Christmas.

I put some in on Saturday 27 November. I have 24 silkie, 12 buff orpington, 1 mutt (speckled sussex roo and I am thinking barred rock hen) and 8 courtinex quial. Now I just need to get me secondary incubator back up before the quail are ready for lockdown. I ran a testing run on it last night and the bulb burnt out. I replaced the bulb and now the lamp is not working right

I'm putting some in to hatch for Christmas day or boxing day. Merry Christmas me! I'm going to have a bunch of funky looking mutts. We have a bunch of roosters and hens living in a free loving society right now and I can't even wait to see what is going to pop out of those shells. We just got a 'new' incubator and hatcher pair. They are from GQF but not a Sportsman. They are probably almost as old as I am or maybe even more but I look forward to having great results with them.

I hope all the chicks have fuzzy feets! BCM roo, Barred Rock Cochin mix roo, a Cochin EE mix roo and 8 Ameraucana roosters that have enjoyed a lengthy bachelor phase because my hunny keeps putting off chopping their heads off. Maybe if I am lucky I will get an Ameraucana egg within the week. OOH and also throwing in a few button quail eggs for good measure.
