Decorating Help.... Two Different Quilts, Which Wall Color?

You could take the small star color and go 5 shades lighter. That is in fact, what I would do were it to be mine....but remember, I have pinky walls!!

Well, I would consider that, Ellie, but the Crayola Crayon colored quilt has no lavender at all in it. Hmm, I need to go get some actual swatches and bring them home and put them next to the quilts.

Ok, here is my suggestion. Keep in mind that my entire house is shades of chocolate, coffee, hot chocolate etc.

But based on what you are saying and looking at the quilts, you want a Venetian plaster look. That burnished gold that almost matches that color perfectly but is just a bit more muted.

Check this out on Behr's site. It is the gold color, although they show it in green also.

Hope this helps!!!

Remember you can get them to custom match your colors!

Hey, my son used "GIMP", an offshoot of photoshop, to play with your quilt, above. Seems like a very convenient way to try colors whilst sitting in a chair at home. I saw him vary the colors while in GIMP, there's endless color and hue possibilities. I'll try it next time I want to change a wall!

If you like one of the gold colors in the quilts, most paint stores can match the color from the fabric and custom mix the paint.

Wow, that is a cool rendering of the quilt you made, 6chickens! Awesome! I think I'll just take some fabric to the paint store with me and see what I can come up with. Venetian plaster is interesting, Laney. I'd have to ask DH about that since this is his room, too. I've never been a good decorator-never had money so never really tried anything different.

Cyn, they also make paint with a suede finish....there are lots of other options than straight paint,
The Venetian plasters are beautiful- it's a nice, aged look-

if u want gold/yellow...i am planning on painting my living room "autumn maize" by porter paints...that is what the gold in your quilts reminds me of...i tried to find a link to it online but i couldnt...but that is the paint i use in my house...the hi-hide is wonderful stuff
