soft country gold/mustard color

Wendy, that's sort of what I'm thinking, tone-wise, but just not sure how light to go with it. When I get some paint swatches, I'll put them on the quilt and take a picture of them and let you fine folks check it out and help me with my final selection. Thanks, all, for the compliments on the quilts. Kathy and I make a good team, I think!

I love the gold with those 2 quilts, which I have to say are stunning! I would take them to the paint store with you. The only hint I can give is that if the room is darkish, like on the north side of the house, go a touch lighter. If it's a bright and sunny room, go darker. My gf painted her dark den gold and it was beautiful, so I painted my sunny living room the same color and it came out yellow because of the room brightness. I had to repaint the whole thing, and had trouble finding a darker gold shade that would not turn yellow in brightness, and not have funky hues.

Think "Thimbleberries". I wonder if they have a collection of colors under that name?

I would use a shade of medium gold for 3 of the walls and then do one wall - about 2 shades darker - the wall that gets the most light bouncing off of it - - and I would stay in the shade of that one on the far left of the first set of paint swatches..... more brownish gold than yellow gold .............what can I say other than ....

"I Love COLOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!" - - she says from her cinnamon cherry family room - -

They are both really ugly, Cyn. Just send them to me and I will make sure you don't have to bother with them anymore.

Well, Terrie, I may send you something in the near future, but these quilts are mine, all mine! BWAHahahahahaha! I never keep anything for myself and now, I have two, count 'em, two quilts for my humble bedroom.

That room is about 12 x 15 and has two windows, facing sort of southeast, so the room gets lots of morning sunshine.

Thanks for the compliments, but I can't take most of the credit for the purple & gold one- Miss Kathy pieced all of it except the last outside border on that one. The one with the bright colors was a "design as you go" quilt. It started out to be one thing and ended up being something else entirely.
