So you had 1 rooster, took his ability to make sound in an attempt to get it past your neighbors, and now are getting rid of all the chickens?
Not even 6 months ago you had 24 chickens. What happened?

$300 for a rooster in general is extremely high, on top of it he's not a rare breed, and came from a hatchery. Maybe in missing something but he just seems like an overpriced, under appreciated cockerel who will likely not sell and either get the chopping block or have to reside where he is not wanted. He's not even worth eating now, cost to darn much. I doubt if Gordon Ramsay could get away with charging $300 for a bird.

Vets normally don't know much about chickens let alone breeds. Heck there's plenty of farmers who don't know much about chicken breeds. He's an EE.

I was interested cause I've considered a decrowed rooster but he'd have to be purebred to come anywhere near justifying the price for me.

Might want to consider lowering the price. I don't know anybody who is going to pay 300$ especially for one of such a common breed. He is gorgeous though!

Even a great SOP rooster whether he can crow or not is rarely going to bring $300. An EE just happens to be a mutt that lays colored eggs. I have 30-40 White Legbar roosters I would gladly sell for 5 bucks apiece, but know I will be sending them to freezer camp.. i

I know $30 is not a lot of profit. But in the hobby chicken world profit does not occur very often.

I wish you luck, however, I think you should psychologically prepare yourself for losing $290 bucks or more on this one.
