"You too." She smiled and watche dher leave. Then she put on her night gown and curled up in her blankets on her bed and slept.

As soon as the door of her bedchamber was shut behind herself, Augustine changed into her bedgown and made sure the room was left fairly dim, putting out all but two candles. To lull herself to sleep, she pulled out some needle work and sank back down into the plushness of her matress.

Mali was shooting her bow, the stars gleaming down on her, her long black hair softly blowing, her appearance suddenly elegant. Her eyes were sharper than daggers. She focused on her target, drew back her arrow, adjusting her feet, then she pressed down on the drawer and the arrow shot through the tree.
