Definining Blue, Lavander, Lilac And Cream In Sebastopols.

I can find photos of Lilacs, which he looks the closest to, but his color changes so much that I may have to call him a "confetti" LOL!
Sasa I am not sure if I showed you my picture of our Lavender curly gander but he shows a more dilute color of lavender.
So here is Nikki lavender curly breasted. This way you can see Nikki for a comparison to your lavender. You can enlarge them and look closer at them.

He's a funny guy anyway, when I got him he had been the one who sat the eggs at his last home so she thought he was female, then at my house he bonded with a White Sebbie gander. I had him DNA tested to be sure, he is a gander so at least I can be sure of that. So maybe he's a dilute Blue? my tiny mind is spinning...LOL

Sasa now that the pictures are close together I can see the more silver blue in your gander more like a very diluted blue. But the only way to tell is by breeding him. The only way he will produce lavender's is to be bred with a lavender if he is a lavender. Because bred to anything else will produce blue not lavender even if he is lavender. Hope I am helping you some because it was so hard for me to understand some of this genetic stuff.

Genetics in cats is hard!
When breeding my Oriental Shorthair cats my gosh did I have to learn colors and how and what to breed to get what. That could drive you nutty!!!

But through my breeding program My lines did well and went to some of the great winners out there today. I am extremely proud of that accomplishment. For 7 straight years my Orientals won the Best Oriental Shorthair in the Midwest Region which is 12 states here in the Midwest.
My one Tortoiseshell Oriental SH. went to the National Best Tortoiseshell in the Nation! What a thrill that was!!!!!
Sorry went off the subject.

Thanks for these, yes maybe he is a Dilute Blue because he is not as dark as these. What color would I breed him to to get blues? I currently have White, Dimorphic White with beige tail feathers and Saddleback. I probably need to find a color that I don't have, right? lol

Sasa I am not use to what Dimorphic is? Have not learned that term yet. But If you want more blue I think you can use him to white. White Sebastopol's seem to carry the blue gene is what I have heard. If not breed him to a lavender to see if you get lavender from him or blue. If you have lavender's born then he is lavender if you get blues then he is a blue. Now I could be wrong on that. Gosh I wish Pete would come back on here. He is great with color breeding help!!!

I love that blue, Barb! It looks just like my lav gander in shape and stance. <3

When I use "dimorphic" I am usually talking about chicks/goslings being sexable at hatch because of color differences. Or for example- Pilgrim geese.

GF thank you, that is an older picture of him he has even more feathering on his sides now that he is older. I need to get out and take some more pictures of my geese. But like to wait until closer to Fall. But can take some anyway now.

Oh, I got the term "dimorphic" from a friend who's white Sebbies produce geese that have colored feathers in the white and colored tails. I thought they were Splash but she says they are "dimorphic white". At any rate, one of the white girls I have is one of hers and she has a beige tail and some beige feathers plus a couple of beige spots on her neck. She has wonderful feathering and is a beautiful girl. The other White girl I have is all white and has the perfect body, her feathering isn't bad either, she is the one who was the Grand Champion "gander" at the County Fair, lol.

Okay so, now I need a Lavender girl! lol
