No - This line is very late on laying - had one dink egg so far about week ago and no more yet. It was good though ! LOL

LOL! It had better be!

A few weeks ago I got a trio of these from someone who received the birds back in April ... my other birds are molting, so these birds are absolutely stunning by comparrison. But I'm used to hatchery birds which pretty much pop out eggs while they're still peeping.

Mine have started laying but not well yet. I guess it is the cold we have had that has slowed them. I do have lights that come on at 4:30 am and go off at 9am. I think that makes a difference. The GNH are laying too that I got from Kathy. All are beautiful to me. I love the diversity of my flock.

I just put a light in today with timer. 2>4 Eggs a day from 20 Hen/pullets is not getting the job done . Molt was heavy but we going to have a Management elimination meeting if it doesn't change soon .

Just had one of those!

Four were fired and are currently boiling down in a stock pot with their meat cooling in the fridge for tomorrow's canning. They joined the 6 I killed earlier and froze for this occasion. The house smells wonderful and the coop has lost some feed eaters.

I like that the lower breasts look like they are filling in. I wonder about those tails, though. Walt commented on one of mine, said to watch the ones that don't get the correct tail development. You might ask him about it or maybe NYReds will give an opinion.
