Isn't living in the country just "GRAND"! Wouldn't trade it for anything!!!I was going to post that I have "husband envy" too, but no matter how I typed that it looked both desperate and creepy.![]()
About me being "desperate." Right now both my entry and library smell like feed stores because that's where we decided to store our latest order (1 ton) of custom feed. And my kitchen smells like ... I can't say what ... because that's where I do the fermented feed. And Gust is a bed hog. I don't have THAT much to complain about.![]()
My males are lacking the rich yellow legs, so that's primarily what I'm trying to add back in.
They are looking really good Leslie! I will try to get some pics of my little guy who is still my great hope, and the others that are at our property today and post. The little guy is going through the stage where his body looks quite large and his head looks small. He had an ideal shape and balance for quite a long time. Hopefully that will return!I think we are doing okay in Oregon for yellow legs. So then the next question might be about tail color. We seem to have two choices ... more barred and more black. The more barred are more correct for males, but perhaps the more black will help get correctly-colored tails on the females. I've got some of each.
I took this photo yesterday and spotted a cockerel (shown toward the center of the photo, away from the camera) that appears to be trying to turn into a Cochin as he grows up. Way too much gray fluff, but super round, and what's up with all that bushy tail? I need to get a better look at that guy. I've got questions for him.
The two with blue bands are the ones we marked earlier for breeding here. Others are available. Will be moving the last few with funky wings to the full cage after this cold snap.
