Oh no really? Is that a bad thing, like can he still be contagious or is he immune to it now? He seems very healthy but I dont know anything about his past history, or even how old he is
If he's had Merak's, then he is a carrier for life. He won't get again, but he can give it to other birds. If your flock was vaccinated as chicks, they won't show symptoms, but they can still contract the virus and become carriers themselves.

Im not certain if they were vacinated since a friend gave them to us (they had bought them from a local feed store about 3 or 4 years ago (and we did not know much about chickens at the time)). From what ive read its too late to vaccinate now. The rooster has been with them for at least 4 months now and so far no one has gotten sick, but we did struggle with roundworms for a while after a new hen was introduced.
