Della my California Gray has not laid an egg since last November

now it's been six months and no eggs, she is healthy looking, acting just fine, not at the bottom of the pecking order, she will set in an empty nest once in a while, she was a great layer last year. She is one of my favorites and will have a home no matter if she lays or not. Just never ran into this before. Spring has hit the Northwest.

If she's considered a production breed, she will lay sporadically or not at all by year 2 and older.

Della must have retired, at 2 years, no eggs since last fall, she does check out the nest box pretty much every day and sets awhile but no egg. she's not broody, actually, I never had a broody hen so I am not sure, I would think she would spend more time in the nest. I would not mind a broody hen. I do have access to fertile eggs, should I try to see if she would set using fake eggs or just let her be?

I don't think she's broody at all, but if she were to go broody she'll do it even without fake eggs or real eggs left behind.
