DEMENTED MUSCOVY DRAKE ATTACKING FROM BEHIND!

Pics
Yes I give that to him with his food (free choice - along with another basin of well water only) and at night in his coop. I will try to feel today. I will say that he seems to make his neck larger or maybe it's the way he holds his head that either elongates his neck or holds it closer to his body. He usually does the former (holds his head high) but perhaps because now I'm so vigilant, I'm noticing the opposite too. You know when you suspect there is something wrong all of a sudden you start to notice all kinds of things that perhaps you missed before.

Chicken Momma,
Enough became enough. When you can only go into your yard armed (with a tool or the hose or a towel (which after a while he aggressively jumped on) and you can't even bring groceries in without the duck attacking and jumping all over them, it's time for a larger change. I hear he's doing well at his new farm and that being the only duck, he has no one to pick on. Everyone except for a blind chicken are all larger than him. That's best for all concerned. Good luck but be prepared for him to get worse if he starts to no longer fear the stick or that pushes him over the edge.

Yes ma´am, I´m very happy that you found a good home. I never thought that he would get over the horse crop. I am very hopeful that you have a lot of good memories with your beautiful birds. As for me, start earning respect with our rooster, Bruno!😟

I have done it both ways under each wing and neck and close to vent the last time I just did their necks. It's time to do it again before winter settles in and I will just do the neck. I only do my chickens this way my ducks goose and chickens also get herbal wormer once a month.
Herbal wormer once a month sounds like a great idea! Especailly now that I have ducks that lay. What do you use?

Miss Lydia,
I found these 2 herbal wormers online:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09858Z44V/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza

https://www.amazon.com/Verm-x-Liqui...DF+O5021pAnSA==&sprefix=verm-x,aps,163&sr=8-1

I'm not sure which might be better. Is one of these what you mean?

I don’t know I’ve used both 1&2 and they haven’t had a bit of problems with it. Try one of the ones you posted and let me know if you like either.

Will do. I am going to start another thread as this one is now not at all any issue. I will visit him at the farm (animal rescue) and bring feed. I hope he is eating the chicken feed alright.

I wonder if others have found a remedy for something stuck in the throat of a duck. I now think that is what's going on with my strange voiced drake, Jupiter.

Oh...btw, I went to Agway and they told me that in the US there is no non prescription dewormer (other than herbal) for birds. Apparently it is illegal. I did not know that. That was AFTER the vet told me on the phone that I could find a "commercial" dewormer comparable to what they would sell me IF I brought the birds in. So Agway sold me a formula that has oregano, ect. in it but I think the dosing may be problematic as you cannot just give his liquid down the throat. You add it to food or water but the way I throw out so much water and refill containers 2 - 3 times a day, I will never know how much they get. I think it is very safe. Just maybe not effective. I would give it to my drake as well - if he wasn't having these throat issues.
