Yes! I hatched the last batch successfully, and now my in laws are sending us hatching eggs! So exciting!

That is Rico
Dada is a Polish (Mr P)
Mama is a Marans X (Sophia)

He has a full sister, Tippy

He’s a beauty, but a devil, he started crowing at 3.5 weeks, and now at 12 weeks he is trying to breed the girls who scream blooming murder!

Today he jumped Rose who screamed blue murder and Mr P came over and broke that little tryst up. Twice!

I have a polish just like Mr P, his name is Fraggle I wondered about Rico, because we got some mixed chicks that the kindergarten class hatched, and I have a little cockerel that looks just like him, but one of his feet has 5 toes, so I thought possibly a houdan or silkie cross

I gave my niece a dozen eggs for another teacher at the school were she works to hatch - 10 chicks are now back here growing up

8 of them (the red one on the left is an older chick).

His half brother Penne has 5 toes, but the mother is an Americana.

But spitting image of Rico otherwise. Though his wattles do have black pigmentation.

That’s interesting. Where did the five toes come from? Elvis has the five toes just on one foot and his comb can’t decide if it wants to be a V comb, or a straight comb. I’ll have to go out and get some pictures today!
