We at www.denverbackyardfarms.org are running a campaign to change the chicken laws here in Denver, Colorado. Currently chickens are allowed, but the permitting process is difficult, time-consuming and expensive. (Must go through two agencies, takes about 4 months and costs $150...for a one year permit!)
So we have organized to petition our government for redress, i.e. to eliminate or simplify the permitting process.
A reporter from the alternative weekly paper here, Westword, is doing a photo essay on chicken coops.
Any chicken owners in Denver who would like to help quietly advocate for changing the law should contribute to this photo project by offering his or her coop for a photo. If you have unpermitted chickens (a chicken cannot be illegal) I am sure the reporter will not publish your address.
Please contact me at my yahoo account, the part before the "at" is jamesbertini.
