Due to two separate predator attacks I’m down to one very sad duck. She is sitting in her coop and not eating. I got her at about 6 weeks old so she didn’t imprint on me, just her duck family. We won’t be able to get more ducks for quite some time. Any tips on how to help her meanwhile? :(

Sad but true for whatever reasons may be you can always find animals in need of homes. Just be smart about it. You don’t want to bring home a sick one. Ask WHY they are rehoming ask about the history. Of course not all people will be honest. Gotta use your common sense. Good luck

ducks can be obtained at any time. go to craig's list . it doesn't have to be the same breed.
she/it will eat when it gets hungry..
was it injured during one of the attacks ?
I dont agree with that

I had 4 mule ducks. I butchered 2 at a time but had an emergency and the 4th got to live for another 2 weeks. It completely stopped eating after day 3 and wouldnt forage or eat treats or anything after day 6 or so. It lost weight in the two weeks.

Ide feed your duck whatever itll eat just to get food in it and find another asap

No injuries, she’s just freaked out. She spent all morning calling for her sister. I’ll see if I can find her a friend on Craigslist. We will have ducklings in September, but we could fit another duck in the meantime.

NO statement is ever 100% ..
sorry you took it as such..
and I will also take yours as such.
If it won't eat, it won't eat. force feed it ?

In the mean time.....be with her a lot! You are the only one(I don't know if there are other people) that is family to her right now. Try to find some ways to keep her busy, hungry, and if you can....happy. Do you know when in September you will get the ducklings? September is right around the corner so if you can keep her occupied then she will live. (sometimes taking the duck in the house so she is around the family(or you) will help with her being lonely. I do understand tho that it is, in some family, against tons of rules to bring a duck in the house. if in that case make due with what you have.) I hope she gets better soon.:hugs
